HISTORY Thorfinn knowns next to nothing about his family. His parents had run to Iceland for some reason or another that he never got an answer on despite having asked his father. His mother had been sickly since his birth so most of his youth was spent under the watchful eye of his sister and father. His father was a fishermen who often took Thorfinn out to see with him since he was a hyperactive child who was just to much for his sick mother to handle. When he was seven year old his father took him out fishing on night when a freak storm hit. Thors shoved the boy below deck to keep him from getting flung overboard, but despite the man's strength and prowless he was knocked from the stern and knocked unconcious when the ship was was rammed by another vessel. The storm was tossing boats around like crazy. Thorfinn hadn't seen the name of the ship that hit them from the tiny window below deck, he himself was tossed by the force as well. He awoke in darkness with water all around him. Rushing to the deck he found Thors face down in water bleeding badly. Being a scared child in the midst of a bad storm he did what seemed logical. He jumped overboard hoping to swim and find help. Not long after he jumped he heard a terrible noise turning in time to see another ship hit his fathers ship, Thors body slipping from the deck into the water below. He tried to swim back but it was to late and he was to small to have done anything. A spot light hit him as two men on the other ship's deck spotted the boy. From that day on he lived on the other boat, the men that saved him and killed his father (whose body was never found) were named Askeladd and Björn, they had a few other men who worked for them, but the long and short was they were international smugglers. And damned good at what they did. Thorfinn blamed Askeladd for his father's death as he was the captain of the ship. The joke on the ship was that Björn had wanted a dog, and instead ended up with a shaggy boy instead. Askeladd teased the boy endlessly only calling him 'Good boy' unless putting him to work. Anytime Askeladd called his real name he knew it was time to get to work. In exchange for the jobs Askeladd gave him, Thorfinn would get to duel Askeladd to try and avenge Thors. ASkeladd put the boy to work often having discovered the small boy was a mutant. He had the gifts of speed and minor super strength. It was a useful skill, so Askeladd harbored the boy, denying any affection for the scuffy boy. After seven years at sea with the smugglers shit hit the fan. Askeladd's luck had run out and the group was captured. Being a minor, Thorfinn knew he would be sent home if the authorities figured him out, he couldn't face his family if he hadn't avenged Thors. So he denied knowing his own last name. Björn and Askeladd also denied knowing it as they had found him at sea. Despite everything, they were loyal to one another even with bad blood. It was a man named Alti in the crew that spilled the beans that Thorfinn was a mutant. So when the men were taken away, Thorfinn was shipped off to Xaviers school. AS they had no idea what to do with him.
